Relish the street food flavours in the comfort of an Indian home at this unique experience.
Mantralaya, Nariman Point, Mumbai
Max. 6 diners
I am a Mumbai based homemaker who was born and brought up in Kolkata. In a place like Kolkata, cooking takes on a whole different role! And that is where my skills as a cook where truly honed. The only thing that I love more than cooking is, cooking for someone else! I want to share my love for cooking with people visiting the city of Mumbai. My home is at a 15 mins walk from Taj Mahal Hotel, Colaba near Gateway of India.
India is known for its amazing street food or 'Chaat' as it is locally known. I want give the travelers a peek into a few of the favourite street food items. This is your chance to relish the street food dishes made in the hygienic environment of a local home.
You will also get to learn how to make a couple of dishes. We will start by making Mirchi Pakoda which is a chilli fritter with a filling in it. You will also have a chance to assemble Dahi Batata Puri which is a very popular street food. After spending time in the kitchen, it will be time to head to the dining table and relish the meal!
The entire experience can last for about 2-3 hours.
This is not a professional cooking class but rather an opportunity to cook and dine with a local home-chef. The experience will be as much about the stories around the food and local culture, as it would be about the meal itself.
