After a distinguished stint in Indian Railways and as a corporate honcho in a multinational company what are odds of developing a passion for cooking? Well, the Railway service helped me to develop a connect with interesting people enabling me travel to length and breadth of India. The corporate job helped me to travel the world, to interact and integrate with the different cultures. Wherever I travel I always made a point to prepare my own food, buying veggies and ingredient, be it, in Sabzi Mandi in Bangalore or Farmers’ Market in California.I grew up in a typical Tamil Brahmin Family and married to South Indian Madhwa Brahmin which provided an ideal blend of cuisine of both Cultures. With an inherent passion for cooking, my Mother and my wife taught me the nuances of Tamil Brahmin cooking.With this experience, you have a chance to learn how to cook a traditional healthy South Indian authentic meal. You can up your culinary game under my able guidance and spend time in the kitchen to explore the ingredients and traditional cooking methods. You can assist me in making the sambar and rasam, which are quintessential South Indian dishes. I promise a wonderful and memorable experience.The entire experience will last for about 2-3 hours.Please Note - *This is not a professional cooking class but rather an opportunity to cook and dine with a local home-chef. The experience will be as much about the stories around the food and local culture, as it would be about the meal itself.
