I have a degree in Hotel Management and have had the chance to work in various multi-national culinary organizations, including Emirates flight catering. Being brought up in a typical Bohri household, I have always been inclined towards food and was always peeping inside the kitchen, taking inspiration from my mother and grandmother. They used to prepare some amazing Bohri dishes and I always wished to prepare food with the same ease and flavours.I welcome you to my home in Anand Nagar, Aurangabad to enjoy some homemade Bohri food. After you have made yoursefl comfortable head with me to the kitchen to get cooking!. We will start with getting the mix ready for the Shammi kebabs. Do not hestitate to use ypour hands and make those perfect pattice shaped kebabs. I shall also teach you to make the perfect samosa. Try it yourself in this hands on class and fry them off later in oil. As any meal goes we shall end this class too on a sweet note. You will assist me in cooking a special dessert called Malida. After an interactive class head to the living are to join me and my family for a home cooked meal. A Bohri thaal involves being seated on the floor and enjoying various dishes served in a big thaal (steel plate). The first course is Mithaas (sweet) followed by Kharaas (savoury) and another round of the two before the Jaman (main course) is placed on the thaal. A Bohri thaal includes many dishes so its always best to try a little bit of everything and then go back for your favourites. This in-home dining experience includes options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Feast on a traditional Bohri thaal that includes Shaami Kebabs, Dal Chawal Palida, Bohri Falooda and a lot more! This meal experience may last for 2-3 hours. Please note - This is not a professional cooking class but rather an opportunity to cook and dine with a local home-chef. The experience will be as much about the stories around the food and local culture, as it would be about the meal itself.
