I am home-maker who loves to cook and I find my inspiration in my mum and mother-in-law. I hail from the Dawoodi Bohra community, which is a sub-sect of Shia Muslims. There is a saying that goes, 'The family that eats together, stays together'. Well, nothing epitomizes this traditional saying more than our community. In our cuisine, the food is served is a large plate, called "Thaal" and all the family members sit around it and eat from it. Our cuisine comprises of traditional spices and one can understand our roots-of-origin through our cuisine. Our cuisine is divided into 4 main parts (and in the following order), namely - Sodanna (Grains of Happiness), Mithaas (Sweet Dish), Kharaas (Appetizers) , and Jaman (Main Course). It is a meal that makes the journey more enriching than the destination. The nuances of the cuisine and the way it is served will be a delight in itself. More so, during Ramzan! So join us on this epic journey. My home is based in Marol, Andheri East, and is close to Airport Road Metro Station. Please note some of the other points relating to this meal - Meal will be served in a traditional manner i.e. you will sit around a steel thaal and the food will be served course wise. Mithaas and Kharaas. - There is a dining table for those who arent comfortable sitting down. - In case of group bookings, if there are any vegetarians, then we can accommodate that request post discussions
