I am bringing you the cuisine of Palakkad in Pune on the occasion of Vishu
Pimple Nilakh, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune
Max. 10 diners
The Palakkad Tamil Brahmin community is born out of migrants from Tanjavur in Tamil Nadu. Although the language spoken is Tamil, it is heavily influenced by elements of the local Malayali dialect. As with language, so with the food! The humble vegetarian cuisine combines mild and eclectic local vegetables with a heavy dose of rice, lentils, coconut and tamarind to create nutritious and healthy one-pot wonders. Served on banana leaves, the widespread of simple, tasty and nutritious fare, promises to leave you licking your fingers (quite literally)! On the occasion of Vishu, I invite to join in with my family to celebrate the day. I will be preparing the traditional Kerala Sadhya for you to relish and enjoy.
