Nepalese cuisine is an unexplored gem common to the hilly regions of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Dooars region and neighboring Nepal. The cool and natural environment plays a major role in our food preparations and how we consume and conserve our ingredients. Fermenting and/or drying of food items are a common way of preservation since they can be stored for long periods of time and used when required. Join me and mother at our home in Chandivali for an authentic Nepali meal. I have been in advertising in for the past 14 years but now decided to pursue my other creative passion - love for food and cooking. On the other hand, my mother, Ganita, has a penchant for making various kinds of pickles and trying out new recipes. Together, we endeavor to promote these local flavours and break all myths as we share our stories with you at the dining table. We will be preparing various pickles which are a part of this authentic spread that is very local to Nepal but cannot be found anywhere else. Please Note - The dried buff meat will be used for the preparation of a dish included in this spread.
