If you are a prospective Diner and if you are looking to open up your world to the various cultures of India as well as have awesome, yummy food then Authenticook is for you.

Authenticook is a platform where Hosts and Diners can come together through an e-commerce website in a secure and safe environment.

What is an Authenticook meal?

An authentic meal prepared by the local Hosts; it may be a breakfast or a lunch or a dinner.

An Authenticook meal is an informal and fun food tasting experience which will make you come back for more. The Host location in most cases will be the residence of the Host.

Registration

How do I join Authenticook? What does the sign up process look like?

This is an extremely simple process which can be initiated from our Homepage

You can register as a host by either signing up as a Host or if you are already registered as a Diner, you can click on Become a Host and submit your interest for Hosting.

We do not want to restrict our Hosts from experiencing the joys of tasting foods from different parts of India

Just follow the user-friendly tips to register and we will get in touch with you and get you ready to start participating as a Host on Authenticook in no time

What are the safety precautions being carried out by Authenticook which ensures that I am safe and secure in my dealings on Authenticook?

At the time of registration, basic information like Name, Email address, Mobile Number, Gender, Date of Birth is taken from the Diners

Every participant on Authenticook needs to log-in via email id.

There is a confirmation code which is given to each group of Diners; the Host may ask for this from the Diner before letting them into the home, Diners are requested to co-operate in such a situation (hopefully you have a brilliant super-hero confirmation code which would make it fun as well)

All payments received by Authenticook from the Diners are through a banking channel; hence the identity of the paying Diner is valid and legal

Is my private information safe and secure?

Yes, your information is safe and secure and is only shared with the Diners once their booking is complete on Authenticook

Become a Host

How do I register to become a Host on Authenticook?

Authenticook team is available at all times to help you with the registration process as well as completing your profile; just give us a call or email us and we will get you started without any delays

It's very simple; just click on "Become a Host" on the homepage of Authenticook and fill up a short registration form

Once a log-in is created, Team Authenticook will get in touch with you within 72 hours and take it forward from there and get you experience-ready within no time

Team Authenticook will also help you upload your listing details so that all you need to worry about is hosting amazing Diners to your amazing meals

You can also "Become a Host" at a later point of time, in case you have been a registered Diner earlier on Authenticook

How important is the Profile information that is being shared on Authenticook?

First thing to note is that the profile of Hosts is visible to all Diners and the profile of Diners is visible to those Hosts whose meals they have signed-up to and are yet to be experienced

The contact details of the Hosts and Diners are not shared unless the Diner has signed up to that particular Host's meal

Authenticook is a platform which brings Hosts and Diners who do not know each other together and hence it is very important that we, as Hosts and Diners get to know each other better and get comfortable about each other

Hence it is very important that we share as much non-private information about ourselves like our jobs and businesses, our likes and dislikes, our hobbies, the travels that we have undertaken recently

This kind of information provides comfort to the other party and gives us comfort as well prior to our meeting

This also helps break the ice when you meet the Diners for the first time

Listing

How do I put up my meals on Authenticook?

Once registered, Authenticook will put up your listings on the platform based on discussions with you

The information that we will need from your end includes amongst other things, Type of Cuisine, Type of Meal, Meal Dates, Location / Venue, Detailed Menu (including short description of each dish being prepared), Price per Diner you would want to get paid, Restrictions and other details

Once the planner is finalised, Authenticook will share the same with you for your final confirmation and will then list it on the platform; this listing would be visible to prospective Diners

Can I list a meal without mentioning the dates of the meal?

Yes, if you want the flexibility, you can list a meal without mentioning the date on which you would want to host the meal

However, if a prospective Diner searches for a meal by date, your meal will not figure in the list

The Diner will have an option of looking for meals beyond the date selected in case he / she is not interested in any of the meals listed for the particular date

In such a case, if the Diner is to approach you for a particular date through Authenticook, we would request you to kindly confirm your availability to do the meal within 24 hours of Authenticook getting in touch with you

We will ask the prospective Diners to provide us with 3 date options for the meal and you would be required to confirm one date

Can I have different meals or menus or prices for different dates?

Sure, the entire planning for your meals is as per your convenience

You may have ten different listings for the same month; these listings may refer to:

- Different types of cuisines (in rare cases)

- Different types of meals i.e. breakfast or lunch or dinner

- Different menus

- Different pricing (in rare cases)

You can do all this in one go by just getting in touch with us and sharing the details with us.

We are always available to solve any queries that you may have

How do I know who are the Diners arriving for my meal?

Prior to the meal you will receive certain information about the diners like the name of the registered diner, the gender of the registered diner, confirmation code for the diners, total number of diners participating in the meal experience, food allergies or special instructions if any, etc.

Can I make changes to the listings that I had approved earlier?

Yes, change to the listings can be made even though it has been approved previously by you

These changes can be made whenever you deem fit

Once you communicate the changes to Authenticook, the revised listing will go up on the platform

These changes can be made in case there are no bookings made for that particular listing by any Diner

How do I get rewarded?

For every meal that you host, you charge the Diner

The host to decide the price that he / she will charge the Diner and communicate the same in the listing being prepared by Authenticook

The Host to consider all taxes pertaining to him / her while deciding the price; Authenticook does not provide any tax related guidance (please take the advice of your local tax advisors and follow the local taxation rules as per your location)

There may also be a service tax or other direct or indirect taxes applicable from time to time, which will be charged on each Diner's meal price which may be charged by Authenticook from the Diner if applicable

The Host will receive the price quoted by him / her post deduction of any taxes that may be applicable at that time

Authenticook will add its service charges for maintaining and running the website as well as its overheads; this service charge will be communicated to the Host upfront

Currently, the service charge is paid by the Diner

How much do I charge?

While deciding the price of the meal, please keep in mind the following considerations:

- The cost of ingredients being used in the preparation of the meal

- The time being spent on preparing the meal

- Whether there is any cost incurred for appointing someone to help in preparing, laying out of the meal and the post meal cleaning

- The other options that a Diner may have for experiencing a similar meal in your locality or city

- We know that the food cooked by you will be far superior in terms of quality, taste and personal touch to what anyone gets in a restaurant, but giving it a consideration may make sense till the time you build a brand for yourself and let your food and experience do the talking on Authenticook

- What are the other Hosts charging on Authenticook

- Any other taxes that may be applicable to you

- In case you are a little confused on how to set your price, we at Authenticook would be at your service to help you finalise the same

Is there a service charge?

No, there is no service charge that Authenticook charges its Host.

Completion and Rating

How does the Rating process work?

Post completion of the meal, the diners will be prompted to complete the ratings which is mandatory and the reviews which is optional. These ratings and reviews will be visible in the profile of the Hosts as well as their meal listings.

Cancellation and Refund

What are the cancellation & refund policies?

Safety and Security

Which cities in India can I book experiences?

Currently, we are offering the meal experiences in Mumbai and Pune only.

You will be able to experience meals in other Indian cities soon.

Are there any booking fees that are applicable?

The prices you see on the website are the prices you pay as a Diner.

No additional fees over these are applicable.

How do I register to become a Diner on Authenticook?

All you need to do is sign up by clicking on Sign Up/Log In.

Authenticook team is available at all times to help you with the registration process as well as completing your profile; just give us a call or email us and we will get you started.

The process is pretty simple and you will find our website easy and comfortable to navigate.

After you are done completing your profile, you can book a meal that interests you.

How do I book a meal experience on Authenticook?

Once you visit our website www.authenticook.com, you will be able to see upcoming meal listings along with the dates on which the meal experiences are to be held as well as all the other meals which would have happened earlier as well.

You can book a seat(s) at the table of some of the most amazing Hosts in India.

When booking a meal, you also have an option to go for ‘Private Dining’ which means that it will be only your group that will be present at the meal (in this case you will be charged for minimum number of diners x price per diner OR actual number of diners x price per diner, whichever is higher).

Another option is to ‘Houston, we have a solution’ which means that your meal goes through irrespective of minimum number of diners being met, in this case you will be charged for the minimum table value which will be minimum number of diners x price per diner OR actual number of diners x price per diner, whichever is higher. In case of additional bookings, you will be refunded the additional payment made by you to meet the minimum seat criteria initially.

How do I book a meal experience on request?

If you are interested in an experience, however it doesn’t match your itinerary, you can click on the “Request Date” button.

Once you are done populating all the fields in the Request a Date form, Authenticook team will get in touch with the Host and finalize the dates that work for both the Host and you.

When requesting a meal, you also have an option to go for ‘Private Dining’ which means that it will be only your group that will be present at the meal (in this case you will be charged for minimum number of diners x price per diner OR actual number of diners x price per diner, whichever is higher).

Another option is to ‘Houston, we have a solution’ which means that your meal goes through (post meal has been fixed up with the host for your requested date) irrespective of minimum number of diners being met, in this case you will be charged for the minimum table value which will be minimum number of diners x price per diner OR actual number of diners x price per diner, whichever is higher. In case of additional bookings, you will be refunded the additional payment made by you to meet the minimum seat criteria initially.

When do I need to make the booking?

Each experience will have a date before which the booking needs to be made as the Host needs enough time to prepare the meals for the Diners.

There will be some experiences which might allow for last minute booking.

How can I get in touch with the Host?

Before the meal experience is booked, all your queries can be routed through Authenticook.

Once the meal experience is booked, the details of the Host will be shared closer to the meal experience date.

How do I get specific location of the meal experience?

Once the meal experience has been booked, the confirmation mail that you receive will have the details and the address of the Host location.

There will also be a link of the location on Google maps.

Dining

I don’t see the exact location of the meal experience, how do I know where to go?

Before placing a booking, you’ll see the approximate location of the experience.

Once you make a booking, the full contact and location details of the Hosts will be shared with you.

How do I know who are the other Diners arriving for my meal?

Once you have made the booking and payment has been processed, you will be able to view names of other Diners under ‘Upcoming Meals’ tab once you go into your profile on the website.

Can I book a meal for a group?

Authenticook is all about the experience. You are welcome to invite your friends / colleagues / family for the experience as well.

When making the booking for the event, you will be required to provide the number of diners attending with you and make the payment for the same.

Once the booking is confirmed you will be sent an email with the confirmation voucher asking for information about your fellow diners for whom you have booked; while this is optional, we highly recommend sharing some information since this will help us in maintaining a trusted community of Diners and Hosts.

Authenticook has a strong ratings and review mechanism. It is important that the friends / colleagues who accompany you do not behave in an untoward manner during the meal experience. The ratings and review mechanism will play a critical role when you go for future meal experiences on Authenticook.

How many people can I book for?

Each meal experience has a minimum and a maximum number of seats available.

When booking an experience, you will be able to view the number of seats which are open.

Will I be eligible for a group discount?

If there is any promotional scheme operating at the time of booking the meal experience, you will get to know about it while booking an experience.

In what language do I need to communicate? Do the Hosts speak English?

India has a fairly large population that can speak in English.

Most of the Hosts speak English, but the language skills might vary.

Our website will indicate the languages the Hosts are comfortable speaking.

Payment

How do I pay?

Once you select the experience that you want to attend, you will be directed to the payment gateway on our website.

You will need to make 100% payment upfront.

Is there any additional charges that I need to pay after making a booking?

No, the prices you see on the website are the prices you pay as a Diner. No additional fees are applied.

The price is inclusive of the Authenticook service charge.

Completion and Rating

How does the Rating process work?

Post completion of the meal, the diners will be prompted to complete the ratings which is mandatory and the reviews which is optional.

Unless the ratings are provided, registered Diners will not be able to make a booking going forward (in case he / she has not rated the Host).

Cancellation and Refund

What are the cancellation & refund policies?

If, as a Diner or Partner Channel, you wish to cancel a confirmed booking made via the Site and Services, at least 48 hours in advance of the stated start time of the Meal, you will get the refund of the entire payment made by you excluding the Diner Fees and any other taxes as applicable (including the Partner Channel's share), which would be the same as the Total Fees less Diner Fees i.e. Meal Fees within a commercially reasonable time.

If, as a Diner or Partner Channel, you wish to cancel a confirmed booking made via the Site and Services, less than 48 hours in advance of the stated start time of the Meal, you will not get any refund. We ensure that none of the events are cancelled. However, we do understand that there will be instances when the Host might have to cancel an event. In such a situation, while we will refund the entire amount, it will be our endeavour to help you find an alternate meal experience for the same date.

How do I know if the food is good?

Our Hosts are the best for the particular cuisine that they are cooking. Also, the ratings given to them by the earlier Diners will give you a glimpse of the experience. All of our Hosts are also visited and reviewed by Authenticook representatives.

Other Queries

Is it important to carry a gift for the Host?

There is no such requirement nor expectation for you to carry any gifts to the meal experience.
